Turkey just watches as ISIL moves in

Broken promises from the Turks, or just whose side are they on? there tanks and troops are there but all they are doing is watching, even though they promised to defend the town.

In Syria, Islamic State extremists are reported to have seized the town of Kobane, near the Turkish border.
Last week, Turkey promised to prevent the town from falling to the militants, and its parliament authorised military operations against them in Iraq and Syria.

For them to be spreading so vastly would suggest that they have had more recruits as there is no way they can hold all of the areas they have captured and try to take on more in Kobani and Baghdad.

Turkey are practically in bed with ISIS, as they are doing their dirty work for them by killing the Kurds. So by watching from the sidelines and appearing as independent by not getting involved (unless the coalition agree to include Assad), they can help with the ISIS reinforcements on the sly, the cyants.
Will ISIS get to Baghdad without the coalition stopping them? Unlikely.

Seems rather clear that the Turkish deployment, rather than challenge IS is there to prevent Kurdish reinforcement/resupply.
In fact, the more I read, it is abundantly clear that Turkey and IS are not only avoiding conflict but are in fact specifically colluding
The Baghdad situation is getting very serious now, IS very close and suburbs being taken. The airport is now in artillery range and that is where the Yanks have their Apaches
I wonder if Obama will allow it to fall without putting in proper ground troops - will Iran allow that?
And what of the repercussions against Turkey and Saudi?

According to the report I heard on Polish radio (which is very good with this kind of thing), at this stage the city centre remains in the Kurd's full control as committed IS efforts have been repelled. Meanwhile, overnight Kurdish fighters have been conducting "special operations" in the occupied outskirts. I'd imagine quite a number of IS failed to wake up this morning with slit carotid arteries...

Crassus - the Turks will batter them in no time. But I've read that Turks are blocking Kurds getting through barriers into Kobani but are allowing ISIS freedom to. There was even pictures of Turkish soldiers with ISIS members.

Last radio news is the Kurds are operating behind IS lines inflicting considerable grief - not to be underestimated as a foe the Kurds.

Well, this is purely based on information I've seen posted on the internet and news sites. They were 8 miles away and gathering pace as of last night, so they could be closer now.
This ISIS lot seem to be pretty clever in their strategies. I read that they are setting light to tires and putting Kurdish flags on their vehicles to confuse the coalition.
I'm not overly worried at this stage as I think eventually they will dwindle away, especially if they do take full control of Kobani and then stupidly attack Turkey.
